Tropical Update for Thursday, August 23, 2012

We are continuing to watch Tropical Storm Isaac and its track. Below is the latest information as of this morning.

Tropical Storm Watches and Warnings, as well as Hurricane Warnings are in effect for portions of the Dominican Republic, Virgin Islands, and Haiti. While Isaac is still a minimal tropical storm, further intensification is expected and could become a hurricane tomorrow. The models aren’t diverging as much as they were in terms of track, but the intensity still remains the main forecast problem. As much as 20 inches of rain will be possible in some areas. Based on the latest computer models, areas of Southern and Central Florida will be affected by Isaac on Monday.
