All eyes are focused on portions of the Lower Mississippi River Valley for the potential for severe weather later this afternoon and evening. Below are the forecast maps for today.
A low level jet is beginning to intensify over portions of the Southern Plains and Lower Mississippi River Valley. This will help to advect moisture northeastward, as well as increase shear. This moisture and and daytime heating will allow for rapid destabilization. As thunderstorms begin to develop later this afternoon, hail to 1″ (individual cells may produce larger hail), damaging winds, and tornadoes will be possible.
We will be monitoring conditions through the day. Please stay tuned to ChaserTV for further information and live streaming video of weather events.
