Forecast for Wednesday, October 10, 2012

Thunderstorms will be possible today for portions of the Southwest and the Southern Plains. Below is a look at the convective outlook for today.

The storm system off the coast of California will slowly make its way toward Southern California through today and tomorrow. As it does, it will bring rain and snow (to higher elevations) to much of the region. Snow levels will be between 7,000 and 8,000 feet and 2-4 inches of snow will be possible with this storm.

Across the Southern Plains, thunderstorms will be possible generally from portions of Northeast Texas and Northwest Louisiana and points northward to the Ozarks. While no severe weather is expected, some gusty winds will be possible.
