Forecast for Wednesday, August 8, 2012

Today’s thunderstorm activity will be confined to portions of the Plains. Below is a look at the forecast maps for today.

Thunderstorms will develop later this afternoon ahead of a midlevel trough and the attendant cold front as daytime heating and moisture advection continue to destabilize the atmosphere. As storms develop, hail to 1″ and damaging winds will be possible. The hail threat will be tempered somewhat due to dry lower levels and high WBZ levels.
