Forecast for Thursday, September 6, 2012

Thunderstorms will be possible today for portions of the Plains today. Below are today’s forecast maps.

  

While thunderstorms are possible across the Central Plains today, the development may be hampered somewhat due to capping and weak forcing. If thunderstorms are able to develop, hail to 1.5″ and damaging winds will be possible. The onset of the storms will likely be late afternoon or early evening. Through the night, a complex of storms may evolve, decreasing the hail threat, but increasing the damaging wind threat.
