Forecast for Thursday, September 27, 2012

Daytime heating will likely be sufficient for thunderstorm development across portions of the Southern Plains and Rockies today in the wake of activity overnight. Here are the forecast maps for today.

  

Morning soundings indicate a very moist atmosphere across portions of the Plains region. With daytime heating, thunderstorms will likely develop along a cold front across the Southern Plains. As thunderstorms develop, hail to 1″ and damaging winds will be the main threats, but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
