Forecast for Thursday, June 21, 2012

There will be two areas of concern for severe weather potential today. Below are the forecast maps for today.

    

Thunderstorms will be possible for portions of Western Texas and Eastern New Mexico as upslope flow intensifies and daytime heating destabilizes the atmosphere. Hail to 1″ will and damaging winds will be the main threats. A cold front across portions of the Great Lakes and Midwest will bring a chance for thunderstorms across the Ohio River Valley. Daytime heating will be the main factor in the destabilization across the Ohio River Valley. Damaging winds will be the main threat with these storms.
