Forecast for Thursday, August 30, 2012

Isaac is still holding on to tropical storm status, but will become a remnant low later today. Here is a recent radar image.

A Tornado Watch is in effect for portions of Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, and Mississippi until 4pm CDT. Isaac is still moving very slowly so flooding will continue to be a problem. Storm surge will also be a problem, especially along the coasts of Southeastern Louisiana and Southern Mississippi. Inland, very heavy rain will be possible, especially into portions of Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for much of Arkansas from 1pm this afternoon through tomorrow night where 2-5 inches of rain will be possible (locally higher amounts possible).
