Forecast for Monday, September 24, 2012

There is a risk for thunderstorms today for portions of the Rockies. Below is an outline of the risk area.

A trough over portions of Nevada and Oregon will move southeast and bring a chance for showers and thunderstorms today across the Rockies. None of these storms are expected to be severe, however, some isolated reports of hail larger than 1″ and damaging winds will be possible. Thunderstorm chances increase tonight for portions of the Central Plains as the low level jet intensifies. Hail to 1″ and damaging winds will be the primary concerns with these storms.
