Forecast for Monday, July 2, 2012

Thunderstorms are possible for portions of the Northern Plains today. Here are the forecast maps for today.

A cold front will be the focal point for thunderstorms across portions of the Northern Plains today. Low level convergence and moisture advection ahead of the front, as well as daytime heating, will contribute to the development of thunderstorms today. Hail to 1.5″ and damaging winds will be the primary threats, but isolated tornadoes  are also possible. The damaging wind potential will come tonight as thunderstorms begin to weaken.
