Forecast for Monday, July 16, 2012

Thunderstorms are possible today for portions of the Intermountain Region and Northern Plains. Below are the forecast maps for today.

    

No widespread severe weather is anticipated, but thunderstorms will be possible for portions of the Northern Intermountain Region as instability develops due to daytime heating. Multicellular storms with the potential for hail to 1 inch and damaging winds will be possible.

Further east, thunderstorms will be possible for portions of the Northern Plains and Great Lakes ahead of a cold front as moisture continues to move northward. As thunderstorms develop, hail to 1.5″ and damaging winds will be possible.
