Forecast for Monday, August 6, 2012

No severe weather is expected today, but there will still be the potential for thunderstorms. Below are the forecast maps for today.

Scattered thunderstorms will be possible for portions of the Northern Plains and Great Lakes ahead a front. While there may be some hail, the potential will be low due to melting. The primary threat will be damaging winds with any storms that are able to form.

A broader area of thunderstorm potential is across portions of the Southeast and Mid Atlantic regions. While hail is possible, wet microbursts and damaging winds will be the main threats.
