With the exception of the Southern High Plains, there won’t be much severe activity today. Below are the forecast maps for today.
Northwest flow over portions of the Rockies and Plains, coupled with daytime heating and ample moisture, will allow the development of thunderstorms across portions of the Southern Rockies and High Plains. Hail to 1″ and damaging winds will be the main threats, however, a few supercells with the potential for tornadoes will be possible. Any tornadoes that form will be isolated.
Thunderstorms will also be possible across portions of the Southeast and Ohio River Valley. While no widespread severe activity is expected, hail to 1″ and damaging winds will be possible.
