Forecast for Friday, September 28, 2012

A stationary front across portions of the Northeast and Mid Atlantic will bring a chance for thunderstorms this afternoon. Below is a recent radar and frontal analysis.

Daytime heating will allow for further thunderstorm development ahead of the front. While no severe thunderstorms are expected, there may be some isolated instances of damaging winds and isolated tornadoes. If shear becomes better organized, then linear structures will also be possible, enhancing the damaging wind potential.
