Forecast for Friday, August 31, 2012

The remnants of Isaac will continue to move across portions of the country today. Below is a recent radar with the flood related advisories.

Rain will continue to move northward into Missouri through tonight. Heavy rain and flooding, especially in Arkansas, can be expected. 1-4 inches of rain have already fallen and another 1-3 is possible through tonight.  There will also be the risk for tornadoes across eastern portions of Arkansas and southeastern Missouri, but this potential is marginal at best.

There is also the potential for thunderstorms across the New England region this afternoon ahead of a shortwave trough over eastern portions of Canada. Hail to 1″ and damaging winds will be the primary threats.
