3/20/10 Severe Weather

18 March 2010 by ChaserTV, No Comments

Chasers are starting to take a closer look at the severe weather potential Saturday in the deep south.  A very powerful storm system will affect the area mid-afternoon Saturday and bring with it the potential for severe storms and tornadoes.

While the south focuses on the severe wx, a little further north, folks will be contending with a pretty impressive mid March snow event as the north side of the cold front will also have impressive energy from this system to work with.  Time will tell regarding both modes in the upcoming system but rest assured that there will be interesting weather in the US on Saturday and ChaserTV will bring it to you live!

A little recap

12 March 2010 by ChaserTV, No Comments

Mike Brady: Parshley, MO

Steve Miller: Pawhuska, OK

What an interesting weather week in Tornado Alley!  Monday caught many of us off guard with a marginal forecast but just enough parameters for some to chase it.  FIVE CTV customers found the needle in the haystack in western OK that day.  This event will go down as the first tornado streamed LIVE on ChaserTV for 2010!
Wednesday was the better day, on paper, anyhow.  Many chasers were on the road and intercepted in MO, OK TX and KS.  The low inched across OK and simply did not meet up at the right time with the right parameters during the daylight hours.  Arkansas was hit hard with injuries and one storm-related death.  Both of the pictures above are from Wednesday.
Thursday, attention turned to IL.  With several streams available, Mother Nature decided this day would be the lessor of the three chase days of the week.

Next week looks rather quiet until Fri or Sat.  We will post more as that system approaches.
Hope everyone has  great weekend; thanks for visiting ChaserTV!
